- Monitor the number and identity of entrants
- Keep in constant communication with those inside
- Know the hazards of the space and emergency protocols
- If an emergency occurs:
- The attendant should never enter the space
- Immediately call for rescue and follow the site’s emergency plan
- Attendants must stop the entry if:
- Conditions become unsafe
- They lose communication
- Unauthorized personnel try to enter
